Come have a fun and creative pottery session!  Let us host your party to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, girls' night out, or for any occasion - enjoy time with friends, colleagues, social groups, or family.

 

Pottery parties generally last 1.5 to 2 hours.  The first half-hour of the party is up to you - come with any refreshments you would like, or get it catered by the Hot Dog Caboose next door.  Bring as much or as little as you want to provide.

The rest of the party is in our hands.  You will each create a piece of pottery from a ball or slab of clay, making projects like pinch pot animals, mugs, small vases, plates or bowls, votives, pencil holders, or wall pockets.  The instructor provides a demonstration of the chosen project, then attendees create their own piece with the instructor's help as needed.   Each person creates the same project, but with your individual creativity, each project will be unique.  Once completed, each person chooses a single color from a selection of glazes.  Projects are then left at the studio to be dried, fired, glazed by the instructor, fired again, so they will be ready to take home about three to four weeks later.

We also schedule pottery sessions for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts or Brownie Troops to earn their pottery badge.  Your troop will learn the process of working with clay, pottery techniques, and the stages of firing.  Each child will complete a project in clay that incorporates the 3 core methods of hand-building, including pinch pot, coil, and slab.
